The name Rare Turtle started years ago as a brand for something completely different - a platform for unique designers that never quite found its footing. But the name stayed with me. There was something in it I couldn't let go of. Rare, like the teachers who give everything to their craft. Turtle, like the slow, steady wisdom that Qigong itself teaches - no rushing, no forcing, just showing up with patience and trust.
When I decided to build this platform, I wasn’t trying to create another place to watch exercise videos. There are plenty of those, and honestly, I have 800 of them on YouTube already. What I wanted to build was something you can't get from pressing play on a recording.
Every live class on Rare Turtle starts five to ten minutes early. Not with instructions or announcements - just with conversation. The same faces show up each week. People greet each other. They ask how someone's week went. They laugh. Over time, without anyone planning it, friendships form between people in different cities, different countries, different lives - people who would never have crossed paths otherwise.
That is what makes this different.
The Qigong matters, of course. But the energy in a live room where people know each other, support each other, and practise together - that cannot be replicated by an algorithm or a library of content. It has to be felt. I built Rare Turtle because I believe loneliness is one of the quiet crises of our time, and I believe that showing up together - even through a screen - is a real and powerful antidote. Not as a slogan, but as something that happens here every single week.
If you're looking for a class, you'll find one. If you're looking for connection, you'll find that too. All classes are free to join. If you're able to contribute, 90% goes directly to the instructors.
Welcome to Rare Turtle. Kseny
